Behind the Lens: My Experience Shooting a Celebrity Wedding with Ricky Fleming with Fleming Photography
Some moments in this photography journey hit differently — and this one? This one was special.
I had the honor of second shooting a luxury wedding alongside one of the absolute greats in the industry, Ricky Fleming. And not just any wedding — it was the stunning celebration of Mr. & Mrs. Holt — Darian Holt and Jadejha Edwards from Netflix’s The Circle. If you know, you know… and if you don’t, let me be the first to tell you: this wedding was straight out of a movie.
From the second I stepped into the space, I felt the weight of how major this moment was. The glam, the guests, the emotion — it was luxury, love, and real connection on every level. But behind all that sparkle was something even more powerful: purpose. And I had to remind myself that I wasn’t just lucky to be there — I was called to be there.
Even though I was second shooting, I always shoot with the mindset that if something happened and only my photos were available, the couple would still have a complete, beautiful wedding gallery. That’s the standard I hold myself to. Every click of the shutter, I’m thinking about storytelling, quality, and legacy.
So I stayed low-key, but locked in — capturing the moments that often go unnoticed. The little glances, the deep breaths, the quiet tears, the loud joy. It reminded me why I do what I do. I may not have been the lead that day, but I showed up with intention, creativity, and care.
Huge shoutout to Ricky Fleming for trusting me to assist on such a monumental day. Being invited into that room was an honor I don’t take lightly. And to Mr. & Mrs. Holt — your love, your energy, your story… y’all are the real deal. Thank you for letting me witness your beginning.
I walked away from that day more inspired than ever, more confident in my vision, and more clear about where I’m headed.
And of course, this one’s stamped with the hashtag that said it all
